I'm looking for advice on how to solve what I would think is a common
problem. I'm working in Project 2003. I have a gannt view that includes
grouping. In the Gannt section I would like to have a visible row separator
for each group (so its easy to recognize what group tasks are in).
Optimally I would like to see Cell background for the Group By to extend to
the Gannt view, but that doesn't seem to happen in 2003 (or 2007?).
Girdliness can be shown for Gantt Rows, but i can't align them with the
Groups.
So I have been trying to work with Bar Styles for "Group By Tasks", but the
Group By bar only has the width of the tasks below it. Instead, I want the
bar to go the entire width of the project. I tried creating custom fields
using a formula. I can create a field that uses "Now()", "[Current Date]",
and others. I can get these fields to populate and rollup, but even though
they have valid values in the column the Group By Task Bar Style is blank if
I use one of the custom fields. Leading me to think that Gannt Bars don't
support formula fields.
Any ideas? Thanks,
