simultaneous animation of objects

In PowerPoint 2000, I would like to have two objects on my slide appear at
the same time, but I cannot find this option. When I select auto-animate
after 00:00 seconds, the objects appear one after the other and not at the
same time. How can I make the two objects appear at the same time? Is there
a way to also have them disappear at the same time? I don't remember running
into these problems when I was running Office XP.

You can't remember this problem in XP because that is when this feature was
incorporated (With Previous). Can't be done in 2000 or earlier (unless you
were to create an AVID file with the two animations. SORRY!

You can make 2 objects appear at the same time by grouping them, but exit
animations don't exist in PowerPoint 2000.
