size A4 on a page so when printed, gives two A5 pages on one A4 page

please help,i am trying to arrange a word document so that
the same document can be fitted twice on to one page,
thereby creating two A5 copies of the same document

If you have Word 2000 or above, you can use the "Two pages per sheet" option
in the Print dialog. Note that you have to enter the page numbers of the
pages you want on the sheet. So if you want two copies of each page, you
have to type in 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, etc. Otherwise Word will put 1 and 2 on
one sheet, 3 and 4 on the next, and so on. If it's a one-page document,
you'll get just one copy unless you enter 1, 1.

Can you get two A5 pages on A4 in this way with pre-2000 Word?
