Slide animation not correct

I have three textboxes on a slide. I have a different
animation (entrance) set for each one. They are to start
when the previous one finishes. When I hit play
everything works fine. When I hit slide show the first
comes in (type animation) when it gets about hlf way
through typing everything suddenly appears on the screen.
None of the animation effects are working. I am new to
power point. Does anyone know why this is happening.

What version of PPT?

When the animations fail, are you showing the presentation on the same
machine you created it on?

You might try changing hardware acceleration.

Powerpoint 2002. I am running the slide show on the same
