Slide will not advance with automatic transition settings

i am a student doing a PowerPoint presentation with
PowerPoint XP. I am having trouble getting my first slide
to advance to the second. The first slide includes an MP3
sound file, and text and clip art which appear at the
same time (with some delays put on text) I have set the
slide to advance to the next slide after 15 seconds which
gives the text and pictures enough time to finish. The
transistion works without sound.

Check the animation settings of the MP3 file and be sure that you've set it
to "Stop after 999 slides". Otherwise your transition will wait until the
sound file completes. The slide is probably waiting for the audio to
complete.
