One of my co-workers wants to be able to turn into a
happy face in her Outlook emails. When I write to her, the
happy face appears for me, but it doesn't work for her. Is
there an option you can select to enable the automatic
creation of a happy face when typing ? For Outlook 2000
and 2002 please. Thanks!

A thought...
Are you using WORD as your email editor from within Outlook?
I know that when this is the case, WORD is set up to automatically change
into a smiley face.
Outlook does not have this Auto replace feature and hence if one is using
Outlook as the Email editor then just a will appear.

Within Outlook you can set it to use Word as the email writer/editor. This
uses up more system resources as it has to load word in the background each
time you write an email but on most modern systems this is not an issue.
