SMTP configuration problem

Ever since my DSL service updated, I can't get outlook to
configure properly to send mail. I've turned off the
antivirus email scan, I've reconfigured profiles and
deleted and reentered the email accounts. I used to get
error message Ox80042108, now I'm getting Ox80042109.
Can anybody help?

That means that Outlook couldn't connect to your SMTP (outgoing mail)
server. Is your mail account provided by the same people that are providing
your DSL connection? Many ISPs now block access to any SMTP servers but
their own (you can thank the spammers for that restriction...), so if
someone other than your DSL provider is hosting your mail you may be blocked
from sending mail through your mail provider's servers. If that's the case,
contact your DSL provider and see if they have an SMTP server you can use as
the outgoing server in your account.

This is the only article I can find related to that particular error
(incidentially, the first character should be the number 0, not the
letter O)

Hope this helps!
