Somewhat urgent Question about MSP03 Combined Gantt views

J

Junkyard Engineer

I've seen a MSP view where on top of the screen you have the Gantt Chart and
on the bottom of the screen, a table giving the monthly planned budget and
an accrued cost (if I remember it well) over time in the project, all this
on the same screen.

I've looked over and over, and don't see how to do it.

Can someone help me out on this one ?

Thanks

Hi Junkyard Engineer,

I'm not sure I follow exactly what you are looking for but see if this
is what you are searching for.

Show the Gantt Chart and split the screen (Window > Split). By default,
this will show the task form in the bottom pane. Click in the bottom
pane to activate the pane and choose View > Task Usage to show the Task
Usage view in the bottom. Format the Task Usage view (Format > Details)
to show Baseline Cost (your planned budget) and Cumulative Cost. (You
may wish to turn off Work). Zoom the Gantt chart to show months and the
Task Usage view will also show monthly cost.

However, any view appearing in the bottom pane shows details about the
selected task in the top pane. So to show the monthly overall cost for
the project, you will need to select the Project Summary task in the top
pane or select all tasks in the top pane to see all details of every
task.

Just another question,

I can't print this bottom pane with the Gantt.

Any ideas ?

Hi Junkyard Engineer,

Sorry. The bottom pane of a split view is not printable. The closest
you could come would be to print out the Task Usage view full screen.
The other alternative is to use a screen capture program (SnagIt,
Fullshot) to capture the screen and then insert the screen capture into
another program like Word or PowerPoint.
