sort function within cells

Hi there,

I was recently part of a project where my manager was able to format
the header row of cells to sort or pick on various data within the
data sheet. There was a single scroll icon within the cell, when you
pressed it, you were given the choice to sort the data in ascending or
descending order, or just pick specific parts of the data to look at.
I would love to know how to do that for future reference.

Thanks.

Look up the topic "Filter a list of data" in the Excel help.

Sadly, this is yet another of the mind-bendingly infuriating times when you
have to know what Microsoft calls the function before you can find it in the
Help, and if you know what it was called, you wouldn't be looking for it,
right?

Cheers

Thank you - I didn't know there had been a reply to this post. I ended up
playing around with the functions and eventually found it. But yes, it is
infuriating :)

Cheers though.
