Sound in PowerPoint Presentations

I'm sure this has probably already been addressed, but I could not find
the question or responses listed. I'm preparing a PowerPoint
presentation and I want to insert a .mid sound file in it. When I do
this (and I have done all the steps - saved .ppt and .mid file in the
same folder, pack and go, etc.), the sound plays fine on my computer,
but when I e-mail it to others in our same organization, it does not
play on their computers. I do not know what else to do. We have a
firewall on our computers so I cannot download anything. Someone in
our IT dept. saved the .mid file for me and e-mailed it to me. I also
downloaded the same .mid file at home on my computer and e-mailed it to
me at work. It plays fine on my computer but will not play in my
presentation when I email it. Any more suggestions. Thanks!!!!

If it plays in your computer and not on others, the link has probably broken.
To resolve this, move the midi in the same folder as the ppt file. Then,
re-insert the midi. You can then zip the folder and email it.

I went back and deleted the presentation and .mid file from the
different folders I had them in. I deleted the .mid file from the
presentation. I then resaved the presentation in "my documents" folder
and copied the .mid file into the same folder with it. Resaved as as a
..pps and e-mailed it to someone else's computer. The music still does
not play. I still don't know what I'm doing wrong or what is happening.
You also said I could "zip" the folder. How do I do that? Thanks

Did you send the midi together when you email the presentation?
What you can do it make a test folder, put the midi and ppt file in the test
folder, then re-insert the midi. Save the file.

Now, zip the folder using winzip (http://winzip.com/winzip.htm) or
winRAR(http://www.win-rar.com/).

I went back and made a folder called "Happy Birthday". I copied my
presentation and the midi file into it. Then I reinserted it back into
my presentation and saved it as a powerpoint show. I then sent the
powerpoint show and midi to the "compressed zip folder". And then I
e-mailed the compressed zip folder to another computer and it still did
not play. I know it must be something simple, but it has got the best
of me now. I do appreciate your time and patience, but I think I may
just leave this to the professionals or far advanced PowerPoint
users!!!!

You might want to send the presentation to my email so that i know whether
there is anything wrong with the presentation.
