Special outgoing address

On other news and mail readers I've used, the sender's name/address can be
altered. In my case, when posting to newsgroups, I used NOSPAM prior to my
actual e-mail address but Entourage didn't give me an option to specify my
sender's information and just took the default from my smtp connection.
I've checked the various drop down settings and looked everywhere which
seems logical to me and can't find anything. I thought of setting up a
second Gmail (my default mail account and one who's smtp I use) account to
use solely for sending to newsgroups but couldn't find a way to setup an
account without including the pop settings and, obviously, I don't want a
second set of incoming e-mail.

Can/will someone clue me in where to go to fix this--I assume there has to
be a way as I've seen several "(e-mail address removed)" addresses.

Thanks

Create a dummy mail account in your "Accounts", using the e-mail
address you want to use when posting to the newsgroups. Reference that
e-mail address in your News settings.

The dummy mail account does nothing other than provide information for
use by News accounts.

OK, I hadn't tried to actually complete this process as I assumed Entourage
would choke when it couldn't log into a non existant Gmail account. If this
is posted, I guess your solution works. Thanks

Open News in Accounts and select the s/o account.

If I understood this correctly, I had to change the sending option under
news to utilize the dummy account as opposed to just the regular smtp
account. I'll see if this happens before asking anything else. ;-)

And it worked. Sorry for not understanding it earlier and thanks again for
the help.
