speech recognition

My bro-in-law keeps getting the Speech Recog opening when
he opens PP. He dutifully unchecks it, goes on, and next
time he opens PP it opens it again. What's the correct
way to disable it?

Thanks

When PowerPoint is closed, stick in the installation CD, run Setup.exe,
select Add/Remove Features, and look for speech recognition and set it to
"Not Available". That will unistall it.
