I can't enable spell check in word 2003. I have set the option several times by going to tools options spelling & grammer. I have both options checked

What do you mean you can't enable it? It looks like you have enabled it. How
do you determine that it is not enabled?

Try deliberately misspelling a word. Select that Word and press the F7 key.
What happens?

Hi,

Plz make sure that in tools - options -spelling & grammer tab the following:
enable: check apelling as you type
disable: hide spelling errors in this document.

enable:
check grammer as you type & check grammer with spelling

If the above steps are already done plz try the following.

1. Click on the Tools menu and select language.
2. Select Set Language and choose the Language that you will be using.
3. Uncheck "Do not check this document"
4. Please check "Detect language Automatically"
5. Click on Default and click Yes to pop up: "Do you want to change the
default
language to..."
6. Click on OK.

Hope this helps.

Asima

Thank you very much, it worked. The help files in word need to include this as a response to a spell check ?
