splitting a task - Not using the mouse

I need to split a task into 12 elements ie 1 hour each month for 12 months.

I appreciate I could do this as a recurring task.

However, I am wondering if its possible to create a split task without the
use of the mouse as I am finding that I get 1.1 hours or 0.9 etc due to
inaccurate placement of the mouse.

Any thoughts anyone?

Julian,
What you want is a recurring task not a split task. From your
description you do NOT have a single task with interrupted work, which
is what a split task is, but rather, you have a periodic series of tasks
over a span of time. Go to Insert/Recurring Task, select the parameters
for the 12 one hour tasks and you are all set - no mouse needed.

Additionally, if you want accurate splits, just use the Task Usage view and
type in the hours.
