[SQL Connection] Project 2003 Enterprise

Hi

I'm having something curious with Project. Before here is my configuration :

- 1 server Win 2003 with all servick packs
- On the same server : SQL Server 2003 with SP3
- On the same server : msxml and MDAC are up to date
- On the same server : sharepoint portal server
- On the same server : ms project server
- On the server : PWA work perfectly

Now i have a client computer (with all service pack and all updates for MDAC
ans MSXML) with MS Project 2003. I have activated trough the "Collaborate"
option the connection with Project Server to enable enterprise features. Here
everythings work well.

But... when i save a new project (into Project Server) i have a connection
error :

Connection failed:
SQLState: '01000'
SQL Server Error: 2
bla bla bla

but by Project is also saved and avalaible on PWA after O_O

then i don't understand the meaning of this error message and how to resolve
it ???

thanks for your help

best regards

Ok

I founded something. The real problem is that when my project client try to
connect to the sql server he's searching for the "localhost" database and
that's why i have the "SQL Server Login" window that appears each time after
the error message. When i select the good server name then everything work
perfect.

Then my question is : how to define the real server name as default value
for the "SQL Server Login" window so that it does not ask me for each time
.... ???
thanks for your help

Hi Jinroh,
Check the authentication of your SQL Server it should be set to mixed mode.
Probably then it will not give this problem.
If the authentication mode is set right try re-registering the SQL server
using the original machine name.
Let me know if it works
