Starting outlook 2007 - problems

S

Stuart Dole

Just purchased Office 2007 and installed it, and put an icon to start Outlook
in the one-click tray thing at the lower left of the screen, where I had one
for Outlook XP. Now when I click it I get two (2) running instances of
Outlook! What's the best way to deal with this? When I navigate through the
Start Menu to the program and click that, I get one instance. This is on
Windows XP with all the current updates.

(I think this should be posted to an Outlook group, but this sign-in screen
is only allowing PowerPoint. *Sigh*)

Many thansks!

Right-click an empty area in the spot where the Outlook icon is (e.g. to
the very left of all small icons there). Select Open Folder. Delete the
Outlook one from there. Then navigate via the Start Menu to the link
that works, right-click it and say copy. Paste it into the open Explorer
window where you deleted the other one from.
Then give it a try.

Thanks Patrick & Steve:

Yeah, that worked. Many thanks! Already there are about seven other
issues... will post soon!

(Steve -- I wasn't double clicking. I know that double-opens the app. At
least I think I wasn't!)

Happy trails,
Stuart
