Startup menu in Word

Hello, I have Word and also the Adobe Reader and Writer. The latter is a huge progrm, and every time I start Word, the Adobe program starts up again. I cannot access my Word document until Adobe has loaded in. I keep taking Adobe off the startup menu, but it keeps putting itself back in every time.
Any solutions?

You'll have to remove the Adobe add-ins from Word: Tools > Templates and
Add-ins...
