Stored macro in active document

I've recorded a macro, stored it in the current/active document; yet when I
open that document again, the macro won't run.

More details would be appreciated if you want a solution.

Is it supposed to run automatically when you open the document, or you
cannot make it run after having opened the document?
What is the macro supposed to be doing?
Why do you expect it to execute when you open the document?
How are you expecting to get it to run?
What steps have you taken to ensure that it would run when you open the said
document?
How do you know/How did you make sure that the macros was indeed stored in
the current document when you recorded it (Unless you did something to make
sure it was the case, by default, macros recorded macros are NOT stored in
the current document, but in Normal.dot)
etc.

Also, check the security level (Tools > Macro > Security). If it's set
to High, all macros are automatically disabled. Set it to Medium, and
click the Enable Macros button in the warning dialog when you open the
document.
