Newbie here again! H E L P!
We imported a new project yesterday, during the Publish we received an
0X80004005 message in the spooler basically indicating the Publish had
failed. We selected 'UNDO' from the Action menu in the spooler dialog
window. Then closed the spooler. After closiong the spooler MSP2003 crashed
with an error message basically indicating "Sorry MSP2003 had to close do
to....etc!
We reopened Project and guess what! No new project! It disappeared from
the Project Server, gone, vanished, notta. We opened PWA and went to task
page and the Project task for the missing Project is listed on our resources
timesheets. Apparently the publish had not failed despite the 0X80004005
error message. The resource can apply time, and the PM accept the time but
the update fails because there's no project to update to.
How do we remove the stranded task from our resources time sheets.
Attempting to remove it from ADMIN->Clean up Project Server Database->
Project and To Do list fails with a error message that states "An unexpected
error has occurred".
I've attempted to use PSCLEANER.EXE from the Resource kit but it only can
see project and resources. Any ideas on how to resolve stranded PWA
timesheet task that have no coorsponding project?
This task is assigned to every resource, so it's imperative I find a quick
solution.
