Strange Excel behaviour

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Hi there,
I'm writing to you because I'm driving crazy with excel.
Everything works quite fine, but, when entering numbers in a cell, Excell automaticly divides it per 100!! so I enter for example 4, and it writes 0,04!!
any idea about the reasons why??

Well, sure... And if you'd queried the group before posting you'd know why
as well It's been asked & answered numerous times:

Go to Excel> Preferences> Edit, then clear the check on 'Display this number
of decimal places'.
