STS - Asking for network password

J

Jeff B

We have been using project server 2002 for several
months. We have just installed SharePoint Team Services.
After clicking on the issues tab, then choosing a project,
the View and Submit Issues screen appears. When I click
on New Issue, the Enter Network Password screen appears.
It has the site name and it asks for a user name, password
and domain. I am the admin so I put in the admin info and
it doesn't work. Did we install part of STS incorrectly?
Any suggestions.

Thanks for any assistance

Jeff,

STS is asking for a Windows Domain account, or local computer account on the
server, depending on your configuration. I am assuming that you have entered
the PS admin account info? You will need to log in with a Windows Domain
Account that has permissions within the project. These accounts should be
created automatically when you publish a project for any resources in the
project with Windows Domain Accounts.

You may also be experiencing either a domain trust issue
(if on separate domains) or a security policy issue.

Jeff:

You say you've been using the server for months and just now installed STS.
What did you do after you installed it to connect it to Project Server?
Then, what did you do to create all the subwebs for the pre-existing
projects?

Hi

I am currently using an evaluation version of
Projetc/Project Server 2002. We have had this issue
(along with many others). I could not access PWA from my
PC and in the end My account has had to be moved to be
able to access it. This is not a problem for me but
should we go ahead with implementing it through our
section then if we had to do that with all the users that
would likely cause a huge problem. How is this issue
resolved without moving users to a different Domain??

Thanks

David:

They can be resolved at the domain level by creating trust relationships.
