suddenly loosing opened e-mails

just recently I started loosing opened e-mails in outlook
2000. They disappear when closing the e-mail and they are
no where to be found, so far. I have not made any changes
that I know of.

Do you have a view applied, such as unread messages with the option to mark
them as read in the preview pane when the focus changes?
Tools->Options->Other->PReview pane.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to the
Swen virus, all e-mails sent to my actual account will be deleted w/out
reading.
