Suddenly not able to receive, sending OK

[Brainless in Seattle]

Office XP Pro 2002, with all the updates... Running Trend Micro PC cillin and
anti spam etc. I always get the automatic updates on all software. The last
email received was 3/17. The error message simply says "The operation
failed." Anybody have any ideas?

Try disabling PCCillin temporarily to see if that helps

Thanks, I uninstalled the anti spam feature for Outlook, to no avail. I'm not
sure how to disable the whole program. Should I uninstall the whole program?
Is it known to conflict with Outlook?

Not necessarily but see if there's a feature that scans incoming mail and
turn it off
