Sum Function Error

When attempting to sum a column of numbers in Excel, I'm
getting an error, "XVALUE!". How can I resolve this error?
Thanks,
Dee

Hi,
Possibly some of your "numbers" are not formatted as such.
Assuming they are constants, check the formatting via
selecting your range, hit F5 , "Special" ,
Choose "constants" uncheck "Numbers".

Dee,

It sounds to me that you have an error in one of the cells being summed.

If you're using SUM, it only returns errors when there are errors in what
you tell it to sum. If you're using the + operator, it chokes on text that
can't be converted to numbers.
