Summary task and duration

Hello!

I have a summary task
that has
Task A 10 hrs
Task B 20 hrs
Task C 30 hrs
Task D 40 hrs

now my summary task says the total duration is 10 hours

if i link task b and task c then my summary duration is 60 hours

but i really want the whole 100 hours in the summary duration.

how do i get all the 100 hours with out having task D have a predesscessor?

Hi Jojo,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

The Duration of a Summary task is the working time between the begining of
the first task and the end of the last task to finish. In your case the
Summary should be 40hrs without any links. If you link them all in a chain,
the Summary Duration should be 100hrs. In either case the total Work is
100hrs.
