summary tasks and linking not working

V

Viadelprado

I just loaded project and started simple task and neither summary task or
linking works

I put in summary on line1
t1 on line two - duration 3 days
t3 on line 4 duration 2 days

I then indent lines 2 and 3 and line 1 summary only shows 1 day duration

I also link lines 2 to 3 and the start date on line 3 does not change

Is there a setup that I'm missing

Hi Viadelprado,

Check that your calculation is set to automatic. Tools > Options,
Calculation tab.

Try hitting the F9 key. Sounds like project is not set to automatically
recalculate.
To fix it permanently, go to tools menu / options / calculation tab and set
for automatic calculation.

It sounds like your calculation mode may be set to manual. Try going to
<Tools><Options><Calculation Tab> and set the "Calculation Mode" to
Automatic. Alternatively, if you would like to keep the calculation mode to
manual you can simply hit <F9> to force a manual calculation (make sure that
the MS Project file is the active window - simply click anywhere in the
window).
