Sync'd folder

Has anyone run into a problem with PowerPoint 2002 occasionally hanging when accessing a file or saving a file in a offline folder? The usual size is around 60mb and occurs with the syncronized folder while online sometimes but happens most frequently when accessing a file when it is offline. This is on XP with the latest updates for Windows and Office. Checking resources finds that there is plenty of memory (total of 512mb) even though PowerPoint shows a process with 150mb being used.
