Table of Contents

[Table of Contents unwanted text showing]

I have a document that is a book. I created a table of contents at the
beginning of it. When I generate it there is text included that I do not want
showing. I tried highlighting that text in the document and marking it as
text but the change does not take. What am I doing wrong. Signed frustrated
and fed up.
