Tailored calendar view in Project

I'd like to be able to tailor different bar styles in the "Calendar view" in
Project - in the same way that you can in "Gannt view". Anybody know if this
is possible - and if so how?

Hi Ridgeroad,

There are many more options in the Gantt chart view. What few there are in
Calendar view you can access through Format -> Bar Styles in the menu.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Thanks for the prompt response - it confirmed my fears that the Calendar view
bar styles are limited (somewhat restrictively and arbitarily) to a few named
standard types. I'd like to set flags and display differently flagged
activities with different bar styles.

Yes, sorry. About the closest thing to flagged fields is the "marked" task
choice, but you only have the choice of formatting marked tasks differently.

Thanks for the feedback.

I am attempting to assign different colors to task bars in the calendar view,
based on the subproject that the task belongs to. If that is not possible,
then I may explore adding additional text to the task bars that would denote
which subproject each task is attached to.

Hi Mike,

I use this personally.
I frequently run a macro:

Sub Concatenate
dim Job as task
for each job in activeproject.tasks
if not job is nothing then
if job.outlinelevel>1 then
job.text1=job.outlineparent.name & " " & job.name
end if
end if
next job
end sub

Then in the Calendar View, Format, Bar Styles, show Text1 instead of Name.
