task notification AFTER dependencies

Our projects have approx. 150 steps in a 14 day period,
between 2 work groups. Resources do receive their email
notifications every morning. Most of the tasks fall in a
waterfall platform and require dependent tasks to be
completed first. But since these multiple tasks start/end
on the same day, the employee rarely knows if they can
start the next task. Any suggestions on how to get the
notifications/alerts sent from one department to another
at anytime to let the employee know that the dependency is
complete? Thank you in advance.

The easy way to do this is to give your resources some access to detailed
project views. This way they can check the status of a predecessor task
themselves.
