Task Reccurence Date

A couple of our tasks, set ahead for a due date of later
this month, are showing reminders, BEFORE THE DUE DATE set.

We noticed that the CURRENT date is OUTLINED IN RED - and
that seems to be what's causing this.
But, we do not know HOW TO GET RID OF THE OUTLINED RED DATE
(also what is that, and how did it get there?)

So again, today 10/20 for instance, we set a tast for due
date on 10/25. Well, the reminders for this task are
coming up today 10/20!!! Again, the date of 10/20 is
outlined in RED. What happened?
