Tasks page redirects to home page

Hello All -

Im new to this group so bare with me...

I am supporting Project Server across many projects.
One such problem I have come accross is as follows....

One resource on a project logs in to PWA, he clicks on the tasks link and
the tasks pages begins to open up but then redirects back to the home page.
This happens when there are tasks assigned and also when there aren't.

I have reinstalled the Active X controls and set required IE settings as per
all our projects but the issue remains.

Any help/suggestions are welcome.

regards,
Shano

This could be a permission issue. Check this users permissions, not only
what groups he might or might not be associated to but also are there any
permissions or categories this user has denied at the user level? Make sure
he has the same permissions as all other users with the same role that are
not having this problem.

Also, check whether this is machine specific, have the user log onto another
machine with their credentials and see if the issue is the same or not. If
they can log in, then you have a profile issue or some IE add-on like a
google or yahoo toolbar that could be causing this problem.

Hello Jonathan...and thanks for responding

I failed to mentioned that this issue is machine specific. The user can
logon to another machine and PWA does function normally.

I will look into the IE add-ons and see if that is the issue.

Shano:

This is most typically caused by an old MDAC version on the local machine.
The second most likely cause is the object installation Jonathan refers to.
When others logon to this machine, do they get the same result? If it works
for another user, it would indicate some corruption in the user profile.
