Template Document Dates

B

Bill

I have noticed that when I open a memo or letter that was
written using templates that the date on the item is
changed to the date I open the document and not the date
the doc was saved. Does anyone out there know how to
turn this off?

Press Alt+F9 to view the field code. Change DATE to CREATEDATE to recover
your original date. Press Alt+F9 to toggle back, then F9 to update the
field.

Or, it might say TIME instead of DATE. In any case, it should be changed to
CREATEDATE. Change this in your original template to keep from having this
problem with new documents based on the template.
