Template Issue

We had a from Perf Eval template that we published to a document library
early in last year. Employees used the form and saved their evals to their
CPU. Recently the library was moved to a new location and we made some
changes to the template and then published the template to the new library.
Now, some forms that had been saved to individual's CPU are opening without
the revisions. The code indicates it is opening the correct template, but it
does not have the changes when viewed. HELP?

There are processing instructions in each form which point back to the
original library. That is why you are not seeing the changes. It is still
seeing the old template.

When forms are stored in a SharePoint Forms Library you can re-link those
forms to it's new template location. Because your users are storing their
form back to their own computer, it will be no small task to update the
processing instructions to point to the new template.

If possible publish the new form back to the old library. That is the best
solution. If not, look for references on the net on how to use a utility
shipped in the InfoPath 2003 SDK called PFIx. You would need to automate it
so that each person can run it against their own form. There are a couple of
other choices but try those first.
