I am trying to find a way to detach a Word document that is attached to a LotusNotes email into a letterhead template automatically. I don't want to detach it first, then open a new document using the template, then insert or cut & paste. I'm looking to just detach into Word from LotusNotes, then open the Word document and have my letterhead on the document, without additional steps. I have a user who does not want any extra steps, she just wants to detach the document and have it "magically" appear on letterhead. Any suggestions?

See a magician?

Templates don't work that way. It would be possible to create an Add-In that
had a macro attached to a custom toolbar button. When the attachment was
opened the user could reformat it by clicking on the button.

The macro could:
1) get the document name of the saved attachment,
2) copy the text in the saved attachment and close the attachment,
3) create a new document based on a letterhead template,
4) paste the copied text into the new document, preferably as plain text,
and
5) save the new document to the old name without allowing the user to
interrupt.

Would that be close enough? Otherwise, I'm not sure if Harry Potter and
cohorts are available on the Internet; I never saw any computers at
Hogwarts.
