Temporary document

Jennifer

I recently opened a document attached to an email. In
Word 2003 I made changes. I only clicked the save button
(didn't save as and rename it). I am now trying to open
the document and can't find it. In my recent document
list it comes up as an error - path not found. when i do
a search for the document - no where to be found.

Can anybody help?

Depends on where your mail program stores attachments. If you're using Outlook, check

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLK

You should never open a document directly from an e-mail message. Not only
does it invite virus related issues, but it creates only a temporary file on
your hard drive, which Word/Windows should clear when you have finished with
them. You *may* be lucky and find the file in your user temp folder, or you
*may* be able to use file recovery software to recover the deleted file.
