While trying to install Office2000 from an install disk I get an error saying
it can't read the file from the source. My options are 'retry', which I did
several times, or 'cancel' which closes the installer.
I tried a Google search to find the file but with no luck....if I find it
where do I put it?
I have used these disks before but not had this problem.

You receive an "Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product Microsoft
Office 2000 Premium" error message when you run Office 2000 Setup

Thanks for your help, Carey. Actually I get a "1405 Cannot read from
source", I think that's what it said. The disks have been used in the past
without problem. Maybe the disk has been mistreated as it is 'shared' from
time to time. Guess maybe a new copy is in order.
Could I find a copy of this file and somehow put it in the folder where the
install is happening? Where could I find a copy?...would it work?
Thanks again for your assistance.
