how do I add custom text inside a gannt bar ?

I would like the corresponding task name to appear inside the gantt bar. So
the answer is all the gantt bars would have text but the text would be
different.
I would also like to know how to write my own text inside the gantt bar. I
have tried format, bar styles, text and have changed the Text1 to my own
custom text but cannot get it to stick inside the bar. Thanks for the help.

Hi,
Wel, by all means, you discovered the way to do it
Format, Bar Styles, Text, select the field.
But "to make it stick..." ? Text will not make the bar longer (that depends
on duration and timescale alone, and you will have to select a very small
font (Forlmat, Text Styles).
I don't think it's always nice, but you asked for it
)

Text1 field. To do this, insert a column and choose the Text1 field. Then
enter the text you want to show in the cell for that task.

You're welcome, Pete
The font is governed by all the other text, it Format/Text Styles. You
can't change the font size just for the bar text. Neither can you align the
text without manually inserting spaces before the letters start

Hi,
Format, Text Styles, select Bar Text-Inside
Yoiu cannot select any foont size smaller than 8 but just entering 6 works,
I've done it.
