I am using some Daten colums which I have renamed. This works fine.

I am alsu using some Textn colums which I rename, but the names don't
"stick" when I close the file and I have to rename them everytime I open.

What gives?

Right Click on the Daten or textn column you wish to rename. Customize.
Select the Daten or textn column you want to rename. Select Rename. Type
new name.
Repeat for all columns. OK. Save file.

Text fields can be customized. They are also different for Task, Resource,
and Assignment views. A value assigned to Text1 in a Task view will not
transfer over to a Text1 in Resouce view.

There is also a difference between assigning a Title to a column name and
renaming it. To assign a title you can double click on the column name and
type a new title. This is not a guaranteed "stick" for the customizable
fields.

To rename a column - Tools/Customize/Fields... Find your name and click on
the "rename" button. To learn more about custom fields and transfer of
values between different views see FAQ#37 here:

Title and Name are not the same thing. Name is stickier.

When you double click on the column heading and give the column a Title, it
is the title of that column when it is in that particular table. If you
later insert the column into another table the name in that table will
revert to whatever name was given to the column/field via Tools, Customise,
Fields.
