On my wife's computer she gets (all of a sudden) that "The feature you are
tryint to use is not on the CD-ROM..." message when she tries to run Excel
2002. MS has said this is because they tried this thing with "feature
groups" so if something in a feature group has an incorrect registry setting
or something, then the whole group wants to "reinstall" by requiring the
disc. Problem is that her DVD drive has died since I installed Office XP.
She really doesn't need the DVD drive right now either, just Excel, which
has been fully installed and working fine for over a year. Is there a way
around this? Is there a way to tell the thing, "We don't care what feature
is not installed--just run Excel because that's all we care about"?
