Title property behavior

Hello:

Can someone from Microsoft confirm the following behavior of the Title
property (File > Properties > Title)?

DEFAULT
1. By default, the Title property gets set to the full filename (say
test1.mpp).
2. If you use the menu "save as" and save the file with some other filename
(say test2.mpp), the title property of the new file gets set to the new full
file name (test2.mpp).

MANUAL EDIT
3. If you edit the title manually and change it to something else than the
filename (say Foo), then it remains constant for that file. Even if you save
such a file with some other file name (test2.mpp), the title of the new file
is the same (Foo).
4. If you edit the title manually and change it to its filename (test1),
then the title is changed to be the default - the full filename (test1.mpp)
-- same as in #1 above. If you save such a file with some other file name,
the title of the new file gets set to the new full file name (test2.mpp) --
same as in #2 above.

Thank You!

Actually I am not sure if this foum is helped by Microsoft folks, so would
appreciate a reply or suggestion from anyone.

Thanks in advance!

Hi JSang,

I do not work for Microsoft but can confirm the following through
testing:

Default:
1. True
2. True

Manual Edit:
3. True.
4. Appears false. If I manually change the Title back to the file name,
save, close. Re-open and save as another file name, the Title stays
with the original manually entered Title.

Tested using MS Project 2003 SP-2.

JulieS,

Thanks a bunch for testing this! Really appreciate it. I am going to try # 4
again. But as it is, this helps me figure out a strategy for managing our
project files.
