TOC entries in text boxes

OK, this is driving me insane.

My document has 2 text boxes per page (imagine two PowerPoint slides per
page).

I want ot be able to create a table of contents, but if the /TC field is in
one of the text boxes then it will not be found when I creat the table of
contents.

How do I get around this?

Thanks.

Unfortunatelt, when I convert them to frames the formatting goes to hell and
that simply is going to be WAY too time consuming.

Is this an undocumented feature or a bug (because I sure didn't find this
mentioned in the help)?

After 9 1/2 hours, yesterdya, of trying to figure this out I gave up and
asked the question here. 9 1/2 hours!!!!!

Word's TOC and INDEX fields (among others) do not see anything in the
drawing layer, which includes text boxes. If you cannot switch from text
boxes to other formatting, then use TC fields in the paragraphs to which the
text boxes are anchored.

Documented, yes:

I'm sure most anybody has to have run into it before discovering that
KB-article ...

Well, all I can say is: Come here earlier next time (say, after 6 hours
;-)). Or start searching at http://groups.google.com | Advanced
groupsearch after 1 hour.
