TOC Numbering

Rob

Hi all,

I have two questions.

Firstly, fairly new to the background world of word and I am trying to
build a complicated TOC to meet document standards at work. I am
required to provide a table of contents such as :

Page Para
Chapter 1
Section 1
Group 1 Introduction 1 to 3
In-line 1 Overview 1 1-1
In-line 2 Policy 2 2/3

I have set Chapter Section and Group to be based on inbuilt Heading
styles. Have developed a macro to set the in-line headings to a TC
field (which works great). I can get page numbering OK over multiple
documents but am unsure how to approach the paragraph numbering (of if
it can be done?). In the numbering explained document on the MVP
website, I get the impression that the best type of numbering is field
based (?).

- Is the TOC above possible? (dont mind how much coding is required,
just pseudocode would help)
- Are fields the most robust for paragraph numbering and would it be
possible to be provided an example (I know big favour)

Any help would be fantastic
Cheers
Rob
