Toolbar problem

[Donhasaproblem]

I'm unable to reply to emails because the reply, reply to all, forward, etc., buttons on the toolbar are not highlighted. The buttons all appear but these buttons look like they are 'watermarked' and won't do anything when I click on them. Any suggestions? Thanks

I'm sorry...I'm not very bright on any of this...it looks like it is Outlook 2002

This may sound really dumb, but are you sure you've selected a specific
email in your inbox? It may appear selected (i.e. a bit shaded), but unless
you click on it (when it goes really shaded) it's not.
