Track changes - accept formatting changes only?

M

Mark

In track changes, is a way to accept all formatting changes, without
accepting insertions or deletions? And, is there a way to just have the
document show additions and deletions while entering text, but not
formatting changes? Showing formatting changes in the balloons really junks
up the document and obscures the substantive changes.

I am using Word 2002 on XP.

Hi Mark,

No, not really. I'm sure there is a VBA solution that can be used but
if what you want is to hide the Formatting bubbles then on the
Reviewing toolbar open the Show menu and select Formatting to turn
them off.

On the Reviewing toolbar, under Show, deselect Additions and Deletions (and
presumably everything else aside from Formatting). Then click the arrow
beside Accept Change and choose Accept All Changes Shown.

The interesting thing is that the Accept All Changes Shown command does not
become available until you hide some of the markup.

People who don't actually use features may actually see more than those who
do because they are less familiar with the interface and consequently have
to hunt for things!
