I am new to Office XP so maybe this is just a concept that I'm missing.

I have existing documents that are being e-mailed to people and when they
return it is automatically asking if I want to merge the changes.
First off I think it is a great thing that it does this.

When I say YES and the document opens I review the changes. I would presume
that I would ACCEPT the changes I like and REJECT the changes I DON'T like.
It seems to be just the opposite.

Am I missing something here??

Thank you Suzanne. That answers part of the question.
The real bulk of my question is the apparent contradiction in terms of
Accept as opposed to Reject changes.

It depends on what view you're viewing. If you're looking at Original
Showing Markup instead of Final Showing Markup, then the concepts might be
reversed. If I try to think about this, it makes my head hurt (I'd have to
actually try it out to see what you're experiencing), but I have an idea
that how you look at it may depend on the view you're using.

I did some reading earlier on the site you sent me and now that I think that
over and what you just said I believe it is making sense.
Seems a bit odd to me that it would be that way but...I"m not Microsoft and
don't have the money that Bill Gates does!!! LOL!!
