Tracking Method - Actual Work and Work in Remaining in Server 2007

I'm having problems with this tracking method (% complete is working). When a
resource enters ther actual work in their assignment's page, it is
calculating the work to be much more then they submitted. For example, a
resource entered they worked 40 hours on a task (which adjustst the remaining
work to zero) and when I go to accept the task it shows the work as 64 hours
per day for 5 days (or 320 hours). This happens on a fixed work and fixed
duration task. Any idea why?
