Trailing dots on calendar

When I add holidays to an individuals calendar it adds extra days to any
tasks affected by the holiday. When I take the holiday out and set the days
back to what they were there is a trail of dotted lines on the gannt chart -
I have been told that this is a bug in the software.

Is there any work around or patch for this and why does it do it?

Hi Anita,

Is the task type fixed duration? (Split the screen from the Gantt chart and
check the task form at the bottom.) If so, this is not a bug in the software.
The task's duration is extended by the resource's holiday. When you remove
the holiday, the expanded duration does not automatically contract (it's
fixed). The trailing dots indicate the task's finish date is after the end of
the work for the resource. Set the task type back to fixed units, and the
trailing should disappear. You can then set the task type back to fixed
duration.
