Highlighting Holidays in the resource view

Hi,

I'm using MS project 2007. We have a central resource plan of which all
project plans use. Within this we keep individuals holidays up to date
(tools>change working time>"person a">add an exception).

Is there a way to make these holidays clearer in the resouce usage
view?

Exceptions from the standard (project calendar) (national holidays,
weekends etc) block out each day in the resource usage view by greying
out the day. Exceptions for "A.N Other" leave the day as white (but as
expected dont allow any work to be scheduled for those days). Is it
possible to make the resource usage view highlight resource execptions
in the same way plan exceptions are?

This would make it clearer in identfying when a resource is not
available as apposed to when a resource is under allocated.

Thanks,
Graham.

Hello Graham,

You can change the non-working time display in the Resource Usage
view to show a selected resource's exceptions. Choose Format >
Timescale and select the Non-working time tab. Click the drop down
under "Calendar" and select the resource's name. That applies the
selected resource's exceptions to the background of the entire
timescaled portion of the view.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi, thanks for the response.

That is kind of what I am looking for but not quite. It would be nice
to apply the background colour just to the resource that is effected by
that particular exception rather than the entire view. However I would
assume now that this is not possible.

Thanks,

You're welcome for the information and thanks for the feedback. You
are correct, the background color applies to the entire view -- not
just to the assignments for the specific resource.
