Transfereing emails from Outlook into Windows Mail...Help!

We have just recently upgraded to a new 64 bit laptop (without Outlook). My
old laptop has Outlook 2003 and I'm too broke to buy 2007. So I am in the
mean time using Microsoft mail on my new machine. Can anyone tell my how to
get all of my emails in Outlook 2003 on my old PC transfered into Windows
Mail on my new machine? And if this is not possible can anyone recommend
something similar that allows me to keep all of my emails on my hard drive.
Thank You!

What OS on the old laptop?
If XP, import all your email into OE and then do this:

Copy ALL the mail files from OE (including the one called Folders.dbx) and
paste them into a folder you have created on your new machine, to which you
have read/write permissions. A folder within your Documents folder would
seem to be the best place.
Then in Windows Mail, do File-Import-Messages, highlight Microsoft Outlook
Express, and click next.
Make sure that "Import from an OE6 Store directory is checked, (that's why
you need to copy the folders.dbx file, because that tells WM the folder is
an OE message store) and click on OK. Browse to the folder you created.

If the old laptop is Vista, then do the same, but into Windows Mail.

Then in Windows Mail (actually you would be better advised to download and
install Windows Live Mail) import your data.
